On The Crest - Nikole Ramsay 

“In my personal work, I am drawn to capturing the ocean, from above and below. I sometimes fly with a local pilot to capture my aerials, sometimes I shoot from a drone and often I submerge in the ocean with my underwater housing.

For me, home is not a place, but a state of being, most strongly experienced while immersed in nature. Living on Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula perfectly plays into my love of ocean swimming in all seasons and there is nowhere I feel more at home than swimming alone in one of my favourite places, the rock pools of Point Lonsdale.

Many childhood days were spent on this beach, exploring the pools, swimming through the kelp tunnels and discovering the ever changing, green hues of natural rock pools. I am happiest on the crest of a wave or being gently held by the ocean. My image 'On The Crest' is a representation of that feeling, complete connection and joy in nature.”
