Leap - Owen Rodgers

“As an emerging photographer (picking up where the high school and university version of me found myself with a camera and in darkrooms) my work centres around documenting the story of my life, and professionally, the lives of people I come in contact with.

The image titled "leap" was made on Worimi Country in Shoal Bay. Taken on a Summer afternoon, with a little pocket camera, it captures the exuberance of an Australian summer. Shoal Bay has long been a place where people flock to over many years, a true home away from home, with the comfort of knowing a place, but it still being removed from home life.

It has come at a time in my life where our family is forging new traditions and creating new memories. Being by the ocean covered in salt and forever jumping off the pier is my happy place.”
