“I am interested in demolition, that is the demolition of childhood homes. Homes that we grew up in.. .and how kind of sad it is.
I mean we all get older and as we age our parents age, ,and we’re given the task of sorting out and ‘dealing with’ the homes that our parents have stayed in way past we moved on, and sorting out their affairs after their passing.
I attended the ‘sorting out’ day of this individual as his parents’ belongings and essentially their existence was ‘sorted out’ as the demo people were coming in the following week. The property and land had been sold to someone and it needed salvaging and rescuing while it was still there, before it was all bulldozed.
I guess I identified with this one as the adult son was my age and I felt an affinity with what he was charged with having to carry out. “
