“My work focuses on the built environment of regional Western Australia. I’m interested in architectural and sculptural representations of the boom and bust cycle. For me they are illustrations of ambitions - dashed and rehashed - over and over again.
The weathering of surfaces under our unrelenting sun-filled skies gives me pause to consider the nature of my place in and on this Country. I often feel both completely out of place and deeply connected, all at once.
I use photography to sharpen my way of seeing as I travel throughout the state, reckoning with shared histories and marking my place within it. I never ‘take’ photos. I feel they are given to me, and it is through this process of seeing that I can begin to know, just a little more than I did before. ”
