Arc Side Staircase - LUCAS ALLEN

A ribbon-like steel staircase curves between 3 floors of the Arc Side project in Middle Park by Jolson. This monumental structure belies its heft with the use of a fine profile and light coloured materials. With an overall height of 7 metres, the stairs allow light to penetrate each floor, subtly highlighting the polished plaster texture. 

This project was an important move for Jolson from predominantly orthogonal forms to the embrace of curvaceous ones.
