“There are so many beautiful sights in the city of Paris. Who would have thought the city bins would be one of them. Not me.

The city of love produces a lot of the same photographs. This time I wanted something different. Something which didn’t speak to the city as we know it, but at the same time it did. It could be anywhere but I know it’s Paris. I’ve travelled there many times before and taken many photos. This was the first time I freed myself to shoot whatever made my eyes smile. I was attracted to the amount of rubbish throughout the city, how can rubbish be attractive, not sure. But they are some of my favourite images. Travel can be like that, being away from home can be like that. Special things can happen when you let go.”
